Vilinsky talks about the ways in which chaplains teach Ignatius students about faith through sports and the arts in an interview airing this weekend.

Since 2014, the Sports & Arts Chaplaincy program has helped to instruct students in how to see God in all things, particularly through sport and the arts.

During these times, that work is as important as ever.

The director of the program, Drew Vilinsky '97, certainly realizes the significance of the work, which is why he founded it in 2014. His work is now a staple of athletics at Saint Ignatius High School, furthering the idea that sports is not just sports. It's a way to teach the lessons of life and mold boys into men of faith.

Vilinsky touched on that mission during a recent interview with Ron Meyer of the show, Blessed2Play. Vilinsky told stories of working with legendary coaches such as Chuck Kyle '69 and Michael McLaughlin '85, who measure success not by championships but on lives they've improved. Vilinsky also focused on the overall goals of the program and how necessary the work is.

The interview will air this Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sunday at 4:30 pm on Sirius XM 130 and over 300 AM/FM affiliates. If you're in Northeast Ohio, you can tune in on AM 1260 The Rock, Cleveland's Catholic radio station.
