Cam Gerard snagged Academic All-OAC for the second time and graduated from JCU over the weekend.

The academic honors keep rolling in for Saint Ignatius alumni in the college ranks.

Three Wildcats at John Carroll University recently earned honors from the Ohio Athletic Conference as Academic All-OAC recipients: Cam Gerard '16, Andy Siciliano '17, and Ian Flynn '19.

All three lost out on the spring season, but they can take solace in the fact that they're very bright men with great futures ahead.

Cam Gerard '16 led the way for the Wildcat-Blue Streaks. Gerard made the cut for Academic All-Ohio in 2018 in addition to this season. A three-sport athlete for the Wildcats, Gerard is a four-year letterwinner for the Blue Streaks. The Avon Lake native played an essential role in helping JCU win back-to-back-to-back OAC lacrosse championships.

Gerard thrived in the classroom en route to a degree in finance. The midfielder tallied a cool 3.70 GPA, demonstrating his shining future by graduating Magna Cum Laude.

Ian Flynn '19 joined Gerard in repping the Blue Streaks on the All-OAC list. The Rocky River native impacted JCU late last season as a freshman and started strong as a sophomore with 2 goals in the abbreviated season. The swift midfielder will be back next season looking for another OAC ring.

Like Gerard, Flynn is also a finance major. Now halfway through his time in University Heights, Flynn earned a 3.69 GPA, not a surprise after he passed through Saint Ignatius with a 4.1 GPA.

Andy Siciliano made the grade for the Blue Streaks, too. The junior tennis player saw his season ended prematurely, but did help the blue and gold win OAC titles as a freshman and sophomore. Last season, Siciliano combined with his partner to win the #1 doubles contest in the OAC Championship.

In the classroom, Siciliano did similarly great work. The Broadview Heights native recorded a 3.82 GPA. Siciliano is pursuing a degree in finance and economics, which he'll look to complete next year.

Matt Nigro '16, Jimmy Berger '16, Ryan Berger '16, and Patrick McGuire '16 also deserve shoutouts for earning JCU degrees over the weekend.

Nigro majored in Italian and helped the Blue Streaks tally a 3.43 team GPA for the spring semester. Nigro notched several honors in his senior season, including D3Soccer.com Second Team All-American, United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-American, First Team All-Great Lakes Region, First Team All-Ohio, OAC Defender of the Year, First Team All-OAC, and Honorable Mention All-OAC, and OAC All-Tournament Team.

Jimmy Berger majored in finance at JCU. He enjoyed a whale of a career with the Blue Streaks after starting his college career at Gannon University. Jimmy earned Second Team All-OAC honors for his senior season, among other honors.

Ryan Berger also majored in finance, with a concentration in wealth management. Ryan secured recognition as D3Hoops.com Third Team All-Region, NABC Second Team All-Great Lakes District, and First Team All-OAC for his senior season.

Patrick McGuire graduated with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. McGuire excelled with the JCU cross country team and in the classroom. The Lakewood native tabbed 2019 Academic All-OAC honors.

Congrats to Cam, Ian, Andy, Matt, Jimmy, Ryan, and Patrick!
