The playoffs begin on February 22 at Brooklyn Rec Center.

The path to a fifth straight state championship is now set for the Wildcats.

The Saint Ignatius hockey team will begin its quest to win its fifth consecutive OHSAA State Championship on Saturday, February 22. As per usual, the John M. Coyne Recreation Center in Brooklyn will play host to the Brooklyn District Tournament.

The journey will start against the winner of Normandy and Avon. The Invaders and Eagles will face off next Tuesday at 5:30 pm. The Wildcats will do battle against the winner at noon on February 22.

If the men of Pat O'Rourke '90 win the opening contest, the winner of Olmsted Falls and Brooklyn awaits the Wildcats in the District Quarterfinal on Tuesday, February 25 at 5:30 pm. With a win, the Wildcats advance to the District Semifinal on Saturday, February 29 at 2 pm.

The victor from each side of the bracket will meet in the District Final on Saturday, March 7 for a spot in the frozen four. St. Edward is the No. 2 seed, Rocky River is the No. 3 seed, and Holy Name is the No. 4 seed – all are on the opposite side of the bracket.

The State Semifinal is slated for March 14 and the State Championship is set for March 15. Both games will be at Nationwide Arena.

The SIBN will cover all playoff games. As per OHSAA rules, all playoff games must be broadcasted audio-only.
