December has been a breakout month for Dre'Mont Jones '15.

Jones saw playing time with the Denver Broncos early in the season, but he's really hit his stride this month. His success began on December 1, as the NFL rookie picked off a pass against the Chargers. Then on Sunday, Jones one-upped his efforts.

The Saint Ignatius grad tore up the field against the Lions. In an incredible performance, Jones recorded 5 tackles, 3 quarterback hits, 2.5 sacks, and 2 tackles for loss. Not bad at all!

His efforts did not go unnoticed. Broncos head coach Vic Fangio presented Jones with a game ball following the 27-17 victory. The win certainly lifts some spirits in Denver, as the Broncos have a 6-9 record on the year.

On Friday, Jones woke up to another honor. The NFL named Jones as the AFC Defensive Player of the Week. To be the best defensive player in the entire conference is quite an honor.

On the season, Jones has 14 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 2 passes defensed, and 1 interception.

Jones and the Broncos wrap up the season on Sunday. The 7-8 Raiders, clinging to hope for a playoff spot, will visit the Broncos at Mile High Stadium on Sunday.
