Runners and Parents,

The trip to Trumble County for the Legends meet was scenic as always.  It was a picture-perfect day: Rolling pastures, fields waiting to be harvested, Amish buggies trotting in the distance, and beautiful fall weather!  I thought the line  "I felt so good, like anything was possible." ( from Tom Petty 's Runnin' Down a Dream) was a great refrain for the cat pack!

The JV/Open race went off under sunny skies and cool temperatures.  Robby Klanac set a fast pace through the mile (I think he likes running through the stables).  Joe Maloney took over at 3200 m  and galloped to the win in 17:13 (PR).  Close behind were:  Sean Freddy Becker 17:19, (PR) Connor McAndrew 17:26, Luke Chesney 17:27, Robby Klanac 17:32 (PR) ,Tom Kilbane 17:36 (PR),  Charlie Rooney 17:38 and Danny Becker 17:59 Letter winner and PR!!  Caleb DelaCruz 18:45 (PR) and Tyler Cupar 19:08 were the top freshmen.  The 'cats took the team title with 19 points over 25 teams.

In the varsity race, 205 runners headed from the start to the first set of barns in a tight pack, disappearing into a cloud of dust kicked up from the dry race track.   Pat Anderson from Mt Lebanon set a blistering first mile in 4:45 with Steve Zucca in tow.  Steve maintained his composure to finish  2nd overall with a time of 15:44 (PR).  Nick Mulhern (16:35) applied his patented "negative split" move at midpoint in the race.  He "reined" in his team mates:  Peter Fitzpatrick 16:36, Eliott Rodstrom 16:48 (PR), Jack Mayer 16:48, (PR) Sean Uhran 16:50 (PR), Aidan Monroe 17:00  Alex Paliga 17:08 and John Pawlikowski 18:00 for a close 2nd place finish behind Mt Lebanon.

Congrats to all 29 runners who had PR's.   See attached sheet from Coach Sean Stefancin.

We are not running in a meet this Saturday.
