Connor Warns and Nick Longano tied for medalist honors.

Heading into the home stretch of the season, the Saint Ignatius varsity golf team is on fire.

The Wildcats have found their stride in the last few weeks, winning two straight tournaments. On Saturday, the Golf Cats captured the gold at the Bishop Watterson Invitational in Johnstown, Ohio.

Winning is nice, but it's the score the Wildcats tallied that's more impressive – 297. A team score like that will do wonders for you in the postseason.

Connor Warns and Nick Longano did much of the damage for the Wildcats. The senior and junior each carded a 73, enough for medalist honors. Warns and Longano happily shared the honors at the end of the day.

The victory marks the sixth such tourney win for the men of PJ Myers '99. The Wildcats have enjoyed lots of team success this season.

The Golf Cats don't have much time to rest. The squad has a quick turnaround, with the Nolan Belden Invitational on Monday. The tournament, at Brookside Country Club, is the penultimate tournament of the regular season for the Wildcats.
