Day notched another double bagel on Thursday.

Day two of the Sectional Tournament went well for the Saint Ignatius tennis team.

Three matches, three wins for the Tennis Cats.

Arjun Brahmbhatt, Nate Day, and Drew Barclay all earned victories in singles play for the Wildcats. All three men will play in the semifinals on Saturday.

And regardless of the results on Saturday, all three Wildcats will compete at the District Tournament next Thursday.

Brahmbhatt took care of business in a rapid fashion today. The junior faced a tough foe in Westlake's JP Mogyordy, but did not show any hesitation. Brahmbhatt played with confidence and was rewarded with a double bagel. The Westlake native rolled into the semifinals with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph.

In the next round on Saturday, Brahmbhatt will battle Tyler Malin, the No. 3 seed, for the right to play for a Sectional title.

Meanwhile, Nate Day remained dominant. The sophomore carded another 6-0, 6-0 victory, his third of the Sectional Tourney. Day's conquest sends him to the semifinals on Saturday.

His opponent? Drew Barclay.

Barclay earned his semifinal bid by virtue of a clutch victory over the No. 4 seeded Spencer Gray of Avon Lake. Barclay eked out a 6-1 win in the first set before making adjustments and rolling past the Shoreman, 6-1, in the second stanza.

Barclay and Day will duke it out for the right to face either Brahmbhatt or Westlake's Malin in the title bout.

The semifinals and finals of the doubles tournament will also take place on Saturday. Kenny Li & Thomas Deucher and Kai Vesikallio & Jack McNally will be competing at 9 am at Magnificat High School, along with the three Wildcats' singles players.
