Baseball Cats Set to Host District Tournament

Baldwin Wallace will be the venue for Districts.

For the first time in a while, Saint Ignatius Athletics will host a District Baseball Tournament.

The Wildcats will host the Baldwin Wallace Sectional/District Tournament, with Fisher Field serving as the host field.

A total of 11 teams have been assigned to the BW District. In order of seeding, they are – No. 1 Saint Ignatius, No. 2 North Royalton, No. 3 Berea-Midpark, No. 4 Brecksville-Broadview Heights, No. 5 Normandy, No. 6 Rhodes, No. 7 Parma, No. 8 John Marshall, No. 9 Valley Forge, No. 10 Garfield Heights and No. 11 Max Hayes.

The Wildcats will start tournament play on Thursday, May 16 at 5 pm vs. the winner of John Marshall vs. Valley Forge. With a win, the Wildcats would advance to the District Semifinal on Tuesday, May 21 as part of a doubleheader, with the times to be determined. The District Final will be held on Thursday, May 23 at a time TBD. 

All of the Wildcats' games will be played at Fisher Field. The Sectional Final and District Quarterfinal games are played at the higher seeded team's home field. 

All of the Wildcats' games will be broadcasted live, audio-only, on the SIBN.
