Declan Boldy added plenty of points to the scoreboard.

This Sunday the Wildcats traveled South to Brunswick to face the Blue Devils on their home turf. This was the second meeting of the year between the two teams, with the first meeting going the Wildcats way.

During this game, the Wildcats put up a tremendous effort, gaining the first win after their trip to Ireland.

Within the first few minutes of the match,  the Wildcats put up three tries, starting off the game hot. The Wildcats’ success only continued from that point forward. For the majority of the first half of the match, the Wildcats controlled the field. Throughout the game, there was very few penalties conceded by either side.

At the end of the first half the score was 52-0 Wildcats.

At the start of the second half, the Blue Devils responded with a new plan of attack and went for more of a kicking the ball to advance down the field. The Wildcats were able to nullify this attack and continued to march up the field. Brunswick, using this new method, was eventually able to score its first try of the match making the score of the game, 66-7. After that the Wildcats kicked off to the Blue Devils and put back up their impenetrable defense, eventually winning 101-7..

“Overall, I feel both teams played pretty well,” said back Declan Boldy ‘19. “While we came out on top, Brunswick kept fighting the entire game, despite the score. Their work ethic and willingness to play some of the best teams around Ohio makes us really respect Brunswick as a team. For us, we still have some things to work on before we play St. Ed on Friday.”

The B side faced Toledo Celts on Saturday. Unfortunately, the game did not go their way, but they hope to rebound this week with a victory of Saint Edward.
