Ohio City - Coach Brian Becker's Varsity Wildcats will take a 7-2 record and a four-game winning streak into Saturday's 7:30 PM tipoff versus currently 6-3 Westerville South at John Carroll University.

This corner will preview the Westerville South Wildcats later this week.

Coach Eric Flannery's St. Edward Eagles, who are currently 11-2 (undefeated in the area), took over the No. 1 spot in the cleveland.com rankings after previously undefeated Garfield Heights was defeated by now 14th-ranked Brush, 63-60, on Sunday.

St. Edward comes calling to Father Sullivan Gymnasium on January 20th for a 7 PM matchup with Saint Ignatius. The Junior Varsity programs will get things started that night at 5:30. The storied home of the 'Cats should be rocking.

The 8-0 Solon Comets moved up one spot to second place in the area rankings and Garfield Heights' surprising setback has the now 7-1 Bulldogs barking at No. 3. Rounding out cleveland.com's top five are Shaker Heights (6-2) and Stow (9-0), respectively.

Here is how the remainder of the area's top 15 teams stand this week.

 6. Benedictine (6-2); 7. Cleveland Central Catholic (7-2); 8. Saint Ignatius (7-2); 9. Brunswick (7-2); 10. Lorain (7-1); 11. St.Vincent-St. Mary (4-5); 12. Cleveland Heights (6-3); 13. Lake Catholic (8-0); 14. Brush (6-2) and 15. Archbishop Hoban (6-1).

Garfield Heights and the Ironmen from Central Catholic will be at Sullivan Gym on January 26th and 27th, respectively. The 'Cats will make the short trip to Benedictine on February 3rd and the even shorter trip to St. Edward for the February 9th rematch.

Have a great week and we'll see you at Sullivan Gym for Tuesday's practice and the corner's weekly interview with Coach Becker.
