Chris Larsen, Kyle Katigbak, and Matt Gildea (pictured with his parents) have all committed.

It has been a busy couple of weeks for the Saint Ignatius lacrosse program.

The Wildcats just booked a trip to Southern California for three games against premier teams in Los Angeles last week, and three Lax Cats have committed to play lacrosse at the next level.

Chris Larsen, Kyle Katigbak, and Matt Gildea are those three Lax Cats.

Larsen has committed to play at Trinity College, a Division III school in Hartford, Connecticut. A long-pole D middie, fending off opposing offenses with his great stick skills and strong play.

Larsen notched one goal, three assists, and 32 groundballs for the Lax Cats last season. Larsen looks to play a big role for the squad this season before playing for Trinity, a liberal arts school of 2,192 undergrads.

Katigbak has announced his intention to play for Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio. The attacker proved to be a clutch player down the stretch for the blue and gold last season.

Katigbak tallied eight goals, two assists, and three groundballs for the Lax Cats in 2017. The senior will hope to have a significant role for the Cardinals, who play in Division III. Otterbein is located northeast of Columbus, with an enrollment of about 3,000.

Gildea has committed to Aurora University, a Division III school located in Aurora, Illinois. The defender played with the varsity squad last season and served as a team manager last season.

Gildea will look to make an impact with the Spartans. Aurora notched an 18-3 record last season, storming to the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Congratulations to these three Lax Cats – best of luck this season with the Wildcats and the seasons following with the Bantams, Cardinals, and Spartans!
