Playoff action begins on Saturday.

On a perfect Saturday night at Wasmer Field, the Saint Ignatius varsity soccer team defeated the Ramblers of Erie Cathedral Prep.

Senior players Ryan Mark, Kevin Shearer, and Alex Rohr along with senior SIBN broadcasters Bain Kurtz and Brad Anderson were honored at halftime for Senior Night.

In the game, the Cats dominated possession and came away with a very convincing 4-0 over the #1 team in Pennsylvania.

The first goal of the game was by junior Kory Nekoloff, who buried a beautifully crossed ball from sophomore Austin Zeleznik.

Sophomore Matthew McLaughlin had the next two goals, scoring the first on a free kick and the second on an absolutely stunning one touch left footed shot.

The final tally was scored by sophomore Joe Katic from the top of the box.

Defensively, all three seniors played outstanding on their final regular season game at Wasmer Field and finished off their regular season fantastically.

The Cats will play their first playoff game this Saturday at 7 p.m.
