Heading into the 2017 Stronsgville Invitational, the Saint Ignatius varsity cross country stands among the best in the state.

In the fourth week of polling by the Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches, the Wildcats are sixth.

The men of Dr. Michael Gallagher '71 grabbed third at the Boardman Invitational on Saturday, finishing second to only Hudson and Massillon Jackson. Hudson (234) and Massillon Jackson (176) hold the No. 1 and No. 5 rankings in the state, respectively.

Familiar names dot the rest of the rankings. St. Xavier (233) comes in at second, Medina (198) at third, and Hilliard Davidson (179) in fourth. After Saint Ignatius (173) at No. 6, Mason (168), Centerville (168), Pickerington North (133), and Kenston (121) round out the top ten. Local rivals Strongsville (74) and St. Edward are tied for 15th, while crosstown foe Mentor sits in 19th with 38 points.

The Strongsville Mustangs will serve as the host for this weekend's meet at Cloverleaf High School. Andrew Biehl, Liam McGuire, and Brett Saunders will look to lead the Cat Pack again this week after each runner finished with a sub-17:00 time in Boardman.
