As per usual, Joe Eitel was spot on.

From my palatial estate in Fairview Park - As expected, Coach Chuck Kyle's Saint Ignatius Football Wildcats are holding the top spot in the first Ohio High School Athletic Association Division I, Region 1 computer playoff rankings for the 2017 season.

The 4-0 Wildcats have an average of 12.775, a level 1 total of 25.5 and a level 2 total of 64.

In the second spot are the 4-0 Stow Bulldogs at 10.825, 24.5 and 47.

The 4-0 Canton McKinley Bulldogs are third at 10.0587, 23.5 and 41; St. Edward (4-0) is fourth at 9.6629, 23.5 and 37.5; Massillon Jackson (3-1) is fifth at 9,18 and 45; sixth-place Mentor (3-1) stands at 8, 18 and 35; Solon (3-1) checks in at 7 with computer numbers of 6.8, 18 and 23; Massillon Perry (3-1) is eighth with 6.2, 16 and 22; Euclid (3-1) earns the ninth spot at 6.175, 17.5 and 18; and Canton GlenOak (2-2) is 10th with 4.9617, 12.5 and 18.

Taking a glance at the rest of the Division I regions, 4-0 Toledo Whitmer is No. 1 in Region 2, 4-0 Centerville, which finished as a state runner-up to Saint Ignatius in 1991, leads Region 3 and, also as expected, 4-0 St. Xavier sits atop Region 4. Archbishop Moeller (3-1), which faces the St. Xavier Bombers this weekend, stands second in Region 4.

Just a reminder that the top eight teams in each region at the end of the regular season qualify for the OHSAA Regional Quarterfinal playoffs.
