A Saint Ignatius soccer legend is returning home.

Justin Morrow '06, recently selected as a member of the U.S. Men’s National Team, will play at FirstEnergy Stadium on Saturday at 7 p.m.

The midfielder, previously a member of Toronto FC of Major League Soccer (MLS), played in only his second contest in an American jersey on Wednesday. The Americans defeated Martinique, 3-2, as Morrow made his first appearance on the squad since January 29, 2013, a 0-0 draw with Canada.

Morrow and the U.S. Men’s National Team are currently competing in the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup. The U.S team stands atop the Group B standings with 4 points, three from the win over Martinique and one from a 1-1 tie with Panama. Saturday's match will be versus Nicaragua.

Before his pro experience with Toronto FC and the San Jose Earthquakes, Morrow attended the University of Notre Dame. Morrow played for the Fighting Irish for four years before the Earthquakes drafted him in 2010.

Morrow helped set the foundation for the current soccer dynasty at Wildcat High. The Cleveland native captained the 2005 Saint Ignatius soccer squad that rolled to a 23-0 campaign, claiming the program's second state title and first national championship.

Morrow earned All-America honors for his efforts for the Wildcats in 2005, setting the stage for other Saint Ignatius soccer greats. The Wildcats won their eighth state championship and fourth national title this past fall under extraordinary head coach Mike McLaughlin '85.
