Hsia will compete at Districts starting tomorrow.

The Tennis Cats are red-hot, and the intensity of one player in particular has ignited the Wildcats.

Josh Hsia has sparked the Tennis Cats all throughout the season, especially as of late, anchoring the squad at the No. 1 singles position.

As a result, Hsia has justly received Student-Athlete of the Week honors.

Last Monday, Hsia downed a very tough opponent to guide the Wildcats to a victory over Brecksville-Broadview Heights. He continued his hot streak at the Sectional Tournament.

Hsia entered Sectionals as the No. 2 seed and cruised on the first days of the tournament on Tuesday and Thursday. On Saturday, Hsia faced fellow Wildcat Arjun Brahmbhatt, the No. 4 seed in Districts, winning in two tough sets, 6-3, 6-4.

Hsia then faced an even tougher match in the finals. Hsia came up against the No. 1 seed, Westlake's Eris Jhaveri, who defeated Hsia in two sets during a regular season showdown.

This time, Hsia pulled out all of the stops. Showcasing his full offensive arsenal, a determined Hsia fully bested his foe, 6-2, 6-1. Hsia's dominant play and intense focus stood as a highlight of a wonderful weekend for the Tennis Cats. All seven Saint Ignatius tennis players, including Hsia, will take part in Districts tomorrow in Akron.

"Josh has an amazingly cool and collected court presence," Head Coach Jon Barker '87 said of Hsia. "He is the epitome of good sportsmanship competitive spirit."

Hsia also took part in Spring Commitment Day yesterday at the Breen Center. The cool and collected singles player will continue his education and tennis career at Case Western Reserve University.

Congrats again to Josh, and best of luck at Districts tomorrow!
