TRAZER will also present the Athletic Department with a new SidelinER.

An interesting and informative event will be held at the Breen Center on Thursday evening.

The Breen Center will host the Greater Cleveland Student Athlete Health Symposium, presented by TRAZER, on Thursday from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

The event will center around preventing and rehabbing injuries, and making sports safer for high school student-athletes.

The program will feature three guest speakers, including Head Football Coach Chuck Kyle '69. Kyle will speak about his role as Youth Football Advisor with the Cleveland Browns and his effort to make the game of football safer for student-athletes.

The other speakers will be Jeff Allen, the Director of Sports Medicine and Head Athletic Trainer for the football team at the University of Alabama, and Dr. Joe Congeni, the Director of Sports Medicine, Clinical Director, Center for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine at the Akron Children's Hospital. William White, a 4-year starter for The Ohio State University and an 11-year NFL veteran, will be the M/C of the event.

Besides the speakers, the program will feature a panel discussion, a question and answer session, and a chance to network in the Breen Center lobby.

A highlight of the event will be the unveiling of SidelinER. The sideline tent will allow the Saint Ignatius athletic training staff to better treat and diagnose student-athletes on the sidelines of Wasmer Field, especially in the area of concussions.

Barry French '00, the CEO of TRAZER, has been instrumental in helping to bring SidelinER to Saint Ignatius, and will be on hand tomorrow at the special event.

The event is free and open to the public, especially to Saint Ignatius student-athletes, parents, and coaches. You can register online for the event here
