Arjun Brahmbatt claimed the lone win for the Wildcats.

The lengthy winning streak is over for the Saint Ignatius tennis squad.

For the first time in a month, the Wildcats dropped a match, falling on the road to Solon on Wednesday evening, 4-1.

The Wildcats and Comets battled all evening, as each match was competitive.

Arjun Brahmbatt picked up the lone point for the Wildcats on Wednesday in the third singles match. The freshman defeated an opponent he had never beaten before, turning back his Solon foe in two sets, 7-5, 6-1.

Josh Hsia, bound for Case Western Reserve University in the fall, fell to a tough opponent in Vlad Rotnov. Hsia dropped the first-set tie-break, eventually losing the first singles match in two sets. Andy Siciliano similarly dropped a hard-fought, two-set battle with his Solon adversary.

Both Wildcats' duos fell short in doubles play, too, allowing the Comets to secure the victory. The Wildcats did post quite the battle in both matches, though.

Another bright spot for the Wildcats came via another youngster, Drew Barclay. The sophomore won his 4th singles match, an exhibition, in an exciting third set tiebreaker.

The defeat drops the Tennis Cats to 11-2 on the year but does not at all dampen what has been an exceptional season for the blue and gold.

That campaign continues this week, with scheduled matches against Copley on Thursday and versus Kenston on Friday.
