Some legends do not need an introduction.

Chuck Kyle '69 is one such person, yet the longtime coach received quite the introduction at an honorary dinner on Thursday evening.

The Wildcats' head football coach received the Legendary High School Coach of the Year award at Coach Sam's Inner Circle Foundation event in Beachwood on Thursday, in front of family, colleagues, and friends.

Kyle received a resounding round of applause after a video introduction, featuring cameos by Brian Hoyer '04, Jake Ryan '10, and Adam Shibley '17.

The 34-year head coach then gave a memorable speech to an enthusiastic crowd, talking about his good fortune and thanking all of his family and friends in attendance, particularly his wife of 42 years, Ms. Pat Kyle.

Kyle also spoke about his position with the Browns and the future of football. In memorable fashion, Kyle talked about the value of football, and how the field is a classroom, providing the perfect opportunity to teach student-athletes important values and life lessons.

Kyle was one of several honorees, including Euclid head football coach Jeff Rotsky, Romona Robinson, and Tony Grossi, among others.

All in all, it was a memorable evening for Kyle and all of the Saint Ignatius faithful in attendance. It was a fitting ceremony for a truly legendary coach.

Congratulations to Coach Kyle, his family, and the football program on this special honor.
