The Wildcats will face No. 2 North Canton Hoover on Wednesday.

The Lax Cats have faced top competition to start the season, earning a 3-2 record and a spot near the top of local lacrosse polls.

Burning River Lax's Coaches Poll, one of the best in Northeast Ohio, has ranked Saint Ignatius third in its most recent poll.

The Wildcats finished behind No. 1 Hudson (6-1) and No. 2 North Canton Hoover (5-0). Both teams are on the Wildcats' schedule this season.

Tomorrow's matchup with Hoover represents an important matchup for both teams, not only for poll placement but for momentum heading into the teeth of the regular season. The Wildcats defeated the Vikings at Wasmer Field last season, 12-2.

Besides Hudson (April 25) and Hoover, the Lax Cats will also face No. 4 Massillon Jackson (May 2), No. 6 University School (April 29), and No. 8 Shaker Heights April 19).

The Lax Cats have already defeated two of the other squads ranked in the poll – No. 7 Western Reserve Academy (10-4) and No. 10 St. Edward (14-6).
