The Saint Ignatius rugby team traveled to Cincinnati with a single purpose – bring home three victories over the St. Xavier Bombers.

The Wildcats did just that, and in impressive fashion.

The A-side bested St. Xavier, 58-0, the B-side snagged a 34-0 win, and developmental team defeated the Bombers, 32-15.

All three squads improve to 2-0 on the year. Each team triumphed over Georgetown Prep from DC the previous weekend.

The A-side contest highlighted a successful day for the Wildcats. Saint Ignatius compiled a 24-0 lead by halftime, as four different Wildcats scored. Sean Whalen guided the Wildcats with four tries, including the first of the contest.

Following a clean sweep of the Bombers, the Wildcats will stay at home for the weekend. Weather permitting, the Wildcats are slated to face Penn on Saturday and Hudson on Sunday.

On Saturday, developmental team will play at 1:00 p.m., C-side at 2:15, JV at 3:00, B-side at 3:30, and A-side at 4:45. On Sunday, the developmental squad will face Hudson at 11:00 a.m. and A-side will face the Explorers at 3:30. C-side is also scheduled to play Coventry at 2:00 p.m.

Again, all times are tentative based on the weather. Schedule changes will be announced both here and on social media.

In the meantime, stay warm, Wildcats!
