One of Saint Ignatius' brightest student-athletes has received recognition for his efforts on the mat and in the classroom.

High School Sports Insider has selected Kaden Russell '17 as the Ohio Lottery Partners in Education Shining Star of the Week. 

Russell attained the championship at 182 pounds at the National Catholic Invitational over the weekend, securing the title for the third time in four seasons. The standout senior finished off his 4-0 run with a 9-7 victory in the title match. 

Russell has wowed fans this season with victory after victory, including a school record 5-second pin two weeks ago. The scholar-athlete won the state championship in his weight class last year and looks to do the same again in 2017.
