Coach Viets: The first week of the GCIBL kicked off Saturday with two of the top teams in the league squaring off. The Wildcats took on the Garfield Heights Bulldogs and after two tough games, only 2 pins separated the teams.

Led by Devin Venczel  (211; 600), Anthony Doran (235; 590) and Vinny Doran (228; 589), the Alley Cats rolled to a 5-2 scratch victory and a 5-2 handicap victory.

The Bulldogs got the best of the Wildcats in the new Baker Division, 3-1, which also gave them the OHSAA point.

In Junior Varsity action, Alex Gehrlein continues to show improvement from his first year as he turned in a very respectable 164; 412 series. Freshman Alex Madeja recently started using some new equipment and the results look very promising as his game is improving.

This week the Alley Cats will be in action out in Wickliffe at the Game of Wickliffe. Their first tournament is coming up on Sunday December 11th at Buckeye Lanes in North Olmsted.
