Cleveland, Ohio - As we reported in the Wildcats' Regional Championship Game story on Saturday, Coach Mike McLaughlin's two-time defending and record seven-time State Champion Soccer Cats (19-0-2) will face the Battling Bees of Medina (18-1-2) in an OHSAA State Semifinal matchup on Wednesday at Strongsville. The action begins at 7 PM.

The Wildcats, who now carry an unbeaten streak of 57 consecutive matches, are ranked No. 1 in USA Today's Super 25 National Poll and finished the regular season as the top-ranked team in the final 2016 poll by the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association.

Medina, the home town of Saint Ignatius standout Steve Milhoan, finished eighth in the OSSCA's final State Poll. The Battling Bees advanced to the matchup with the defending and three-time National Champion Soccer Cats by defeating Sylvania Northview, 3-1.

The other half of the Final Four Bracket pits Columbus St. Charles Prep (18-0-1) against Beavercreek (19-1-1). That matchup also takes place on Wednesday at 7 PM. It will be played on the pitch at Xenia High School.

St. Charles Prep and Beavercreek garnered OSSCA State Poll rankings of second and fourth, respectively.

Just FYI, the winners of Wednesday's State Semifinals advance to the OHSAA State Championship matchup on Sunday, November 13th, at high noon in Columbus' MAPFRE Stadium.

Have a great Sunday and a special new week, and we will see you on the pitch at Strongsville Wednesday night.
